Buying or gifting fine art photography has therefore become popular and popular. But what exactly is fine art photography ? What gives a photograph its value and why get it ?
The GADCOLLECTION Gallery intends to shed some light on you.

What is fine art photography?
An art photograph is a photograph taken by an artist and printed by him (directly or under his direction). The photograph must also be signed and numbered. Art photography therefore meets many criteria.
However, there is not really an artistic definition of this notion, nor even technical criteria. Above all, it is a photo with artistic expression. That is, a photo that bears the singular gaze of an artist, which describes the world through his eye. It is a photo in which artistic research is assumed. It differs from photojournalism, for example, in that the artist allows his sensitivity and creativity to be expressed and his personality shines through in his works.
Guillaume Cannat, L’ARCHE GALACTIQUE – THE GALACTIC ARK, 2019
Why buy fine art photography?
There are many advantages to buying or giving away fine art photography. First, it is an imperishable present. A photo keeps as much as you want. It then becomes part of the heritage and will be passed on to the heirs. It is also a “store of value” property, detached from fluctuations and whose value may increase over time and the artist’s rating.
However, an art photo is above all a work of art that will beautify your interiors and sublimate your days.
Jean-Daniel Lorieux, KATHERINA – CHRISTIAN DIOR – VOGUE, 1996
When buying a fine art photo you have to ask yourself what you are looking for. Is it to enrich its collections? Make an investment? Decorate his apartment?
