Matthias OLMETA (1968-) is a French photographer famous for his portraits and his still-lives. He photographs with an ancient technique: ambrotype, which allows to only do a single print. This technique cousin of the daguerreotype produces a negative image, it appears positive thanks to a dark bottom. With the high accuracy and the specific nature of the ambrotype, Matthias OLMETA achieves to give a great solemnity to his models. They seem like extracted from a timeless universe.
